The ultimate in romance, Kevin proposed to Kelsey in the midst of a huge candlelit heart on a sandy beach. We were thrilled when Kelsey invited us to help her plan her unique wedding in gorgeous plums and moss greens. Estancia La Jolla was the perfect venue to create their magical evening.  The couple was married under a beautiful hydrangea-drenched grapevine canopy in the Estancia garden. As we partnered with Jan, mother of the bride, every detail was designed and completed. From glowing balls of woven lights to a ceiling draped in creamy soft fabric, each element added to the natural ambience.  We knew the guests would arrive thirsty on this warm summer day, so we created a festive purple drink, decorated with a candied purple fruit slice and playful straw. Leaf name cards and table numbers enriched the woodsy, yet elegant theme.  The perfect, refreshing touch to a lovely summer wedding, Pink Berry Frozen Yogurt was the couple’s dessert choice for their guests, with a small, marzipan-leafed cake for the traditional cake cutting ceremony.  Creative photography by Candice of Mark Brooke Photography.

Trisha and Michael

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

El Nino showed it’s face on Trisha and Michael’s wedding day, but they weren’t going to let that spoil their special day. They enjoyed every moment with great anticipation and joy! The ceremony was moved inside at Estancia La Jolla, which made for an intimate affair with hanging candles and warm shawls. The reception was a hit with dancing all night long! We added some comfortable furniture just in case any guests needed a little break. Trisha and Michael didn’t want a traditional wedding cake, so they opted for cupcakes, yet they had a smaller cake to cut. We created a menu that went along with each cupcake to indicate what flavor it was. Pretty fun! Dean Barker with Paul Barnett captured the lovely photos. It truly was a gorgeous wedding for this wonderful couple! Watch their memories unfold by Modern 8 Films.

Elena and Oliver

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

We don’t have many rainy days in San Diego, but this year…we do! We moved this quaint little ceremony inside. Guests were comfortable as they watched the couple marry in front of a romantic fireplace drenched with candles enhancing the feeling of romance. Elena and Oliver were married at Estancia La Jolla and threw a lovely seven course, wine pairing meal for all their guests to enjoy. Delicious! Aquario Studios captured the memories.

Magical Event in Malibu

Friday, January 8th, 2010

A few years ago we had the privilege of working with Katie’s family when her sister, Kimberly, got married. Now it was Katie’s turn! What we loved most about Katie was her abundant energy and pure joy about getting married to Conor. We have met a lot of happy brides over the years, but truly have never met anyone as giddy as Katie. Her excitement was contagious! The wedding took place high up in the hills of Malibu with a breathtaking view of the ocean, at the Rancho Sol Del Pacifico Estate. The reception was held on the tennis court, which was covered by a clear tent so the guests could see the stars and the full moon. Eggplant lamour linens were topped with Ottoman Plum table runners and lined with bronzed bowls, apothecary jars and iron candelabras. Jennifer Cole created an eclectic look with a vibrant mix of fall colored flowers, succulents, candles and moss. Wrought iron chandeliers hung from the tent and were draped with purple orchids and jewels. Paul Bott delighted the guests with a unique tapas menu and a variety of tray passed desserts. The party was jump started by the talented DJ Casey Connor. She was amazing! The All-Star team was complete with one of So Cals best photographers, the brillant  Jose Villa. To end the night, guests loaded paper bags with chips, granola bars and cookies for the bus ride back to the hotel. It was a huge hit! Thank you Katie and Conor for letting us be a part of your special day!

Chelsea + Bryan

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

The historical US Grant is always such a fantastic venue to work at. We always enjoy teaming up with Ed and his fabulous staff. The ceremony was held in the gorgeous Crystal Ballroom dripping with jewels and glowing with candles. Chelsea and Bryan didn’t want a sit down dinner, so they made the reception into one huge cocktail party. To create this look, we used various size tables for guests to sit at (and stand) and set up food stations for guests to enjoy. This created an atmosphere of mingling and fun. Annette used her magic touch with flowers and did a beautiful job.  Gabrielle Fox was the photographer and took some memorable photos. Congratulations Chelsea and Bryan!

Tamara and Chris

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Tamara and Chris chose a sunset color palette for their wedding at Estancia La Jolla. They incorporated some art pieces from their home, which complimented the room and gave it a more personal touch. Tamara changed into an adorable short wedding dress which helped her dance all the way into the night. Aquario Studio captured the enjoyable day.

An Intimate Affair

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Patti and Ji flew from Maryland to marry at L’Auberge Del Mar (Kecia you rock!) with their closest family and friends. It was a small, intimate affair that was so beautifully done! (if I say so myself!) The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all in the same location at L’Auberge. Which worked out quite nicely with only 40 guests. Jennifer Cole created a gorgeous arch for the couple to marry under and later was moved over the cake table. Loved the hanging orchids! We did long rectangular tables which looked incredible on the terrace. Each guest was able to enjoy the breath taking sunset. (that was planned too) Tim Altbaum got the guests up and dancing and Michael Norwood captured the day with sophistication. Great job team!!

Over the Top!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

This wedding gets the award for most extravagant wedding of the year! Jessi was such a blast to work with… full of life and energy! Even though she was sick for most of the planning, she still pulled it off! Nativity Church made for a perfect ceremony setting. When Jessi came walking down the aisle, Mike’s eyes lit up as he saw how beautiful she looked! (our favorite part of the day!) After the ceremony, guests drove to the exquisite Grand Del Mar (we love Paige!) to enjoy cocktails on the Reflection Lawn. Flags were made into name cards by India Ink and placed into a tray. A Latin Groove played in the background creating a festive environment. The ballroom was breath taking! Kathy Wright amazed every person that walked into the room. The walls were draped in flowing white fabric with booths for guests to sit at. Each table was elaborately decorated with feathers, flowers and more. Revelry brought in an outstanding round, white bar that was a statement in itself.  Kathy created the same motif that was on the invitations, to be set on top of the bar. It was really cool! The stage was set with Wayne Foster Entertainers. There were all kinds of fancy productions put on throughout the night to ensure no one was bored. Late night snacks were served just in case guests were hungry again. Always a good idea! No one cares what they eat once it’s after 11pm and they’ve been drinking! Every guest really had a total blast dancing the night away! Darin Fong was wonderful to work with and took some great photos! And we always have fun working with Jason Taylor! Thanks for making us laugh all the time!  Congrats to you Jessi and Mike!
