“The Best is Yet To Come”

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Two joyous hearts, Lauren and Philip envisioned an intimate affair with their dear family and friends. With an East meets West theme, a touch of Hampton Style mixed with local seaside flare created the perfect setting at the Darlington House. White paper lanterns twinkled above the gorgeous pottery centerpieces which nestled upon the burlap inspired linens. The best was yet to come certainly came true as the charming couple danced their magical night away under the stars! A huge thank you to Jason Ward for sharing such beautiful photos.

The ultimate in romance, Kevin proposed to Kelsey in the midst of a huge candlelit heart on a sandy beach. We were thrilled when Kelsey invited us to help her plan her unique wedding in gorgeous plums and moss greens. Estancia La Jolla was the perfect venue to create their magical evening.  The couple was married under a beautiful hydrangea-drenched grapevine canopy in the Estancia garden. As we partnered with Jan, mother of the bride, every detail was designed and completed. From glowing balls of woven lights to a ceiling draped in creamy soft fabric, each element added to the natural ambience.  We knew the guests would arrive thirsty on this warm summer day, so we created a festive purple drink, decorated with a candied purple fruit slice and playful straw. Leaf name cards and table numbers enriched the woodsy, yet elegant theme.  The perfect, refreshing touch to a lovely summer wedding, Pink Berry Frozen Yogurt was the couple’s dessert choice for their guests, with a small, marzipan-leafed cake for the traditional cake cutting ceremony.  Creative photography by Candice of Mark Brooke Photography.

Sunny San Diego

Congratulations to Shannon and Rick! What a gorgeous day for a wedding this turned out to be at Cuvier Park. Guests enjoyed a scenic ceremony on the bluffs of La Jolla and then feasted on some delicious Mexican cuisine and yummy treats.  True Photography did a wonderful job!

Jenny + Tom

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Jenny flew in from Washington D.C. to meet with us (the EAE divas) on a clear, warm, sunny day. You know, one of those days that makes San Diego an attractive vacation destination. Jenny shared her vision and dreams with us and asked if we would help her plan one of the most important days of her life. Months later, her wedding day unfolded into a seamless day, full of beauty, precious moments, fun and laughter. Jenny chose the rich elegance of La Jolla Presbyterian Church for the ceremony, with its dark, wooden pews and breathtaking stained glass windows. Purple was a must at the wedding, as it is Jenny’s favorite color. Loads of purple hydrangea were stuffed in buckets that hung from the entrance doors, welcoming guests as they arrived. All rejoiced as Jenny promenaded down the aisle on the arm of her father, both of them glowing with joy. (Tom looked quite pleased himself!) The Museum of Contemporary Art  was the perfect spot for the reception, with its hip, contemporary feel. The museum has grey cement flooring…a little cold and not great with purple. So, with the help of  Kathy Wright, we added a cappuccino color in the decor to soften the ambiance of the room. We used rectangular and square tables to create a clean, modern feel. The tables were adorned with roses, orchids, monkey’s tail and some silver balls. (really cool!) The museum glowed with candles, up lights and happy faces. The kids were thrilled with their “kids” table full of activities just for them, including a mysterious ‘I Spy’ card and custom pencil. The food, created by Waters Fine Catering was superb. Each course was elegantly designed and paired with a lovely wine to compliment the sophistication of the food. As always, the Wayne Foster  band were super stars, creating pure entertainment all evening long! The guests were dancing their hearts our, as you can see! What a phenomenal day all captured by Jennifer Dery!
