Jenny + Tom

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Jenny flew in from Washington D.C. to meet with us (the EAE divas) on a clear, warm, sunny day. You know, one of those days that makes San Diego an attractive vacation destination. Jenny shared her vision and dreams with us and asked if we would help her plan one of the most important days of her life. Months later, her wedding day unfolded into a seamless day, full of beauty, precious moments, fun and laughter. Jenny chose the rich elegance of La Jolla Presbyterian Church for the ceremony, with its dark, wooden pews and breathtaking stained glass windows. Purple was a must at the wedding, as it is Jenny’s favorite color. Loads of purple hydrangea were stuffed in buckets that hung from the entrance doors, welcoming guests as they arrived. All rejoiced as Jenny promenaded down the aisle on the arm of her father, both of them glowing with joy. (Tom looked quite pleased himself!) The Museum of Contemporary Art  was the perfect spot for the reception, with its hip, contemporary feel. The museum has grey cement flooring…a little cold and not great with purple. So, with the help of  Kathy Wright, we added a cappuccino color in the decor to soften the ambiance of the room. We used rectangular and square tables to create a clean, modern feel. The tables were adorned with roses, orchids, monkey’s tail and some silver balls. (really cool!) The museum glowed with candles, up lights and happy faces. The kids were thrilled with their “kids” table full of activities just for them, including a mysterious ‘I Spy’ card and custom pencil. The food, created by Waters Fine Catering was superb. Each course was elegantly designed and paired with a lovely wine to compliment the sophistication of the food. As always, the Wayne Foster  band were super stars, creating pure entertainment all evening long! The guests were dancing their hearts our, as you can see! What a phenomenal day all captured by Jennifer Dery!

Over the Top!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

This wedding gets the award for most extravagant wedding of the year! Jessi was such a blast to work with… full of life and energy! Even though she was sick for most of the planning, she still pulled it off! Nativity Church made for a perfect ceremony setting. When Jessi came walking down the aisle, Mike’s eyes lit up as he saw how beautiful she looked! (our favorite part of the day!) After the ceremony, guests drove to the exquisite Grand Del Mar (we love Paige!) to enjoy cocktails on the Reflection Lawn. Flags were made into name cards by India Ink and placed into a tray. A Latin Groove played in the background creating a festive environment. The ballroom was breath taking! Kathy Wright amazed every person that walked into the room. The walls were draped in flowing white fabric with booths for guests to sit at. Each table was elaborately decorated with feathers, flowers and more. Revelry brought in an outstanding round, white bar that was a statement in itself.  Kathy created the same motif that was on the invitations, to be set on top of the bar. It was really cool! The stage was set with Wayne Foster Entertainers. There were all kinds of fancy productions put on throughout the night to ensure no one was bored. Late night snacks were served just in case guests were hungry again. Always a good idea! No one cares what they eat once it’s after 11pm and they’ve been drinking! Every guest really had a total blast dancing the night away! Darin Fong was wonderful to work with and took some great photos! And we always have fun working with Jason Taylor! Thanks for making us laugh all the time!  Congrats to you Jessi and Mike!

Estancia Getaway

Monday, June 1st, 2009

We were so spoiled at Estancia! When we arrived, in our room was a fabulous welcome bag filled with tons of goodies!! Then we enjoyed delicious food on the Garden Courtyard that was beautifully decorated by the ever so talented Kathy Wright. We mingled with the “best of the best” wedding planners in San Diego. The ballroom was stunning with all kinds of textures used for the centerpieces. It’s hard to show wedding planners new things when we see it all, but Kathy certainly surpassed our expectations. Music was provided by Wayne Foster. Cake was by the artistic Michele Coulon. For everyone who was able, there was a hike the next day at Black’s beach. Go hikers! We had such a wonderful time being a guest at such a nicely planned event! Thank you Erica H. & D.!! We love you girls!

Sunflowers and more sunflowers

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The Dillon Family was the sweetest family! They were a complete joy to work with! Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa is always a delight to work at! Kathy Wright did a great job using Kate’s favorite flower…can you guess…sunflowers! Michele Coulon created yummy cup cakes for each guests to enjoy.  Well done everyone!

Rachel and Pino’s Wedding

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

We had the privilege of doing the first wedding ever at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego! It was quite fabulous too. From Rachel’s amazing Vera Wang gown to the “in the round” setting at the Woodstock Terrace for the ceremony. NRG Band rocked the house while Kathy Wright’s over the top decor lit up the Legends Ballroom. Of course, the Image is Found was there to capture it all. This party lasted until the wee hours  of the night! The Image is Found….Wowsers! Great pictures!
