Friday, February 12th, 2010Jenny + Tom
Friday, January 8th, 2010Jenny flew in from Washington D.C. to meet with us (the EAE divas) on a clear, warm, sunny day. You know, one of those days that makes San Diego an attractive vacation destination. Jenny shared her vision and dreams with us and asked if we would help her plan one of the most important days of her life. Months later, her wedding day unfolded into a seamless day, full of beauty, precious moments, fun and laughter. Jenny chose the rich elegance of La Jolla Presbyterian Church for the ceremony, with its dark, wooden pews and breathtaking stained glass windows. Purple was a must at the wedding, as it is Jenny’s favorite color. Loads of purple hydrangea were stuffed in buckets that hung from the entrance doors, welcoming guests as they arrived. All rejoiced as Jenny promenaded down the aisle on the arm of her father, both of them glowing with joy. (Tom looked quite pleased himself!) The Museum of Contemporary Art was the perfect spot for the reception, with its hip, contemporary feel. The museum has grey cement flooring…a little cold and not great with purple. So, with the help of Kathy Wright, we added a cappuccino color in the decor to soften the ambiance of the room. We used rectangular and square tables to create a clean, modern feel. The tables were adorned with roses, orchids, monkey’s tail and some silver balls. (really cool!) The museum glowed with candles, up lights and happy faces. The kids were thrilled with their “kids” table full of activities just for them, including a mysterious ‘I Spy’ card and custom pencil. The food, created by Waters Fine Catering was superb. Each course was elegantly designed and paired with a lovely wine to compliment the sophistication of the food. As always, the Wayne Foster band were super stars, creating pure entertainment all evening long! The guests were dancing their hearts our, as you can see! What a phenomenal day all captured by Jennifer Dery!

High School Sweethearts
Friday, October 16th, 2009We first met Annie when we helped coordinate her sister’s wedding a few years ago at their parents Encinitas home. So, we were thrilled to get a call when Annie got engaged to her high school sweetheart, Curtis! Being San Diego natives and sharing a love for the ocean, selecting L’Auberge Del Mar for their wedding just came naturally. And, Sea Grove Park was the ideal backdrop for their cliff side ceremony. Navy blue, lime green and crisp white was the preferred palette, so Annette Gomez created a clean look with white calla lilies and bright green wheat grass, anchored by a beautiful bamboo structure for the ceremony, and orchids, dahlias, roses, and a touch of lime for the reception arrangements. Michael Tiernan serenaded the guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then put on his DJ hat for dinner and dancing. He is so talented! Instead of table numbers, Annie and Curtis framed pictures of their favorite eating spots in San Diego. As guests entered the ballroom for dancing and dessert, ladies were given navy blue flip flops with personalized size tags. Instead of traditional wedding cake, Annie and Curtis opted for an ice cream station stocked with all their favorite toppings! It was a beautiful day captured by the ever so talented Jennifer Dery, who never disappoints with her amazing photos.

Colorado to California
Friday, April 10th, 2009It is always nice to see a bride and groom so relaxed on their wedding day, able to enjoy each guest! Anasa and Jordan did just that and looked fabulous on their wedding day. Paradise Point was the perfect location for this couple who traveled from Colorado to have a beach wedding in April. Jennifer Dery captured the day with an incredible eye as she always does! Bradley at White Wedding Day was a joy to work with. He is always dressed to perfection. NRG played incredible music until the very last minute!

Go Chargers! Now it’s Go Chiefs!
Thursday, February 26th, 2009Jessica and Mike are a fabulous couple…and dream clients! Jessica is organized, attentive to all the details and has exquisite taste. Mike is very gracious and let Jessica do what she wished. Mike started off the day right by giving Jessica a gorgeous diamond necklace to match her earrings and bracelet! That’ll make any girl smile! The ceremony was more traditional in style. With Annette Gomez, we kept the color of the flowers more neutral and romantic in style. Don’t you love the pale gold runner! It fit perfectly in that church. Jessica had a special picture set into a locket and attached to her bouqet. Over at the US Grant the guests enjoyed a two hour cocktail hour where a latin music group provided by Wayne Foster played in the background. Once the guests moved into the Celestial Ballroom the colors there were much more dramatic with shades of rust orange, buttery yellow, slate grey, moss green and hints of plum. The room was stunning and very alive with energy as the talented Susan Foster from Wayne Foster played continuous music all evening long! Thank you CAKE for the fabulous design you created! And who can’t appreciate the sexy bonbon babe that roamed the room enticing guests…with her chocolate glitter bonbons of course! There was also “Mike’s Lounge” that incorporated all kinds of yummy desserts, cigars, an expresso cart and a bar which served cordials and cognac. You will see more of this wedding in a magazine soon.

Creative Director of Exquisite Magazine
Thursday, September 25th, 2008This rustic Estancia La Jolla wedding was so charming. Alyssa and Marty are such a fun couple with booming personalities. Alyssa is the creative director for Exquisite Weddings Magazine, so it was quite a compliment when she asked us to help her with her wedding plans. Once again Annette Gomez out did herself! Guests enjoyed delicious creme cycles for the late night snack on a warm September night. The amazing photos are by Jennifer Dery.
